YOGA AND HEALTH
        Improving the health of individuals, families, groups and the community

The Community Yoga Center is as an outreach project of Yoga and Health. The primary purpose of the Community Yoga Center is to support education and outreach activities of Yoga and Health. Through education and social support, Yoga and Health empowers people to make comprehensive lifestyle changes which prevent illness and create health. 
The objectives of the Community Yoga Center are:

  • To provide an easily accessible location for people to participate in activities which promote health and prevent illness
  • To promote high educational standards for yoga teachers
  • To bring highly qualified teachers into the community
  • To ensure the highest quality yoga experience for the San Marcos Community

Community Yoga Center instructors have at least 200 hour certification and are registered with Yoga Alliance. Community Yoga Center classes taught by 200 hour Certified Yoga Teachers are not intended to be therapeutic in nature. They are not appropriate for students who are recovering from an acute injury, illness or surgery. They may not be appropriate for people with chronic illness. Students at the Community Yoga Center pay the teacher directly and commit to a particular class day and time. Make up classes must be arranged between the student and teacher.
